DISCO 40TH BIRTHDAY EVENT HIGHLIGHTS + PHOTO GALLERY
SOCIAL EVENT IN HOUSTON, TX
We had such a great time planning our client’s disco themed 40th birthday party this month and wanted to share a recap of all the details!
The Venue
The event was held at a Houston event venue called Toque Event Space @toqueeventspace, located in The Galleria area of Houston. It was the PERFECT venue for a disco themed party as it already came complete with a huge disco ball with lights that greeted guests as they entered. The disco ball shined throughout the night and definitely provided that wow factor! The staff was also amazing to work with from the planning to the execution the night of.
The Decor
We wanted an elevated and sophisticated feel for the celebration and chose a color scheme of gold, silver and black. The main elements were gold and silver disco balls and personalized vinyl records.
Balloons

The Welcome Table and Client Gift
We wanted our client to have a unique and memorable gift to take home after the event, so we had guests sign a frame with a custom record photo insert with her birth year and named this “For The Record.”
She also asked guests not to bring gifts but just in case, we added glitzy gift boxes we had in stock from Christmas decor for the cards and gifts area.

The Sweets & Treats
Our client wanted a mix of sweet and salty treats for her guests to take home as a Thank You for attending the event and everything was loved by all the guests!
- Cake - The cake was designed by Edet Okon @edet78, a Houston based pastry chef who has been featured on Food Network’s “Cake Wars” and “Best Baker in America!” He created a fabulous disco themed cake for the occasion.
- Sweet Treats - Cupcake Novelties @cupcakenovelties created several amazing sweet treats that included glitter disco ball cake balls, gold and silver record lollipops and chocolate covered oreos! *Cupcake Novelties also ships their treats for those not local to the Houston area.

The Food
Toque is a full service venue that also provides catering, which made the food experience so convenient for the event. The delicious dinner was buffet style and included Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Skewers, Shrimp Dynamite (so popular that we had to order more so I’d say they were definitely “dynamite” and a hit!), veggie skewers and veggie fried rice.
The Drinks
In addition to the open bar, the “Disco Fever” signature drink was a refreshing bourbon cocktail with raspberry liqueur, lemon juice and mint!
